This weekend is the Woodward Dream Cruise. Of course we over at Citizen had to join in on the fun going up and down our street. Let the fun begin.
We couldn’t bring ourselves to forget about our fam out in Cali, or the Detroit Roller Derby ladies.

Don’t expect us to broadcast the news often, but this week and all of the madness around here brings up a perfect way to start our blog week. World news has brought us the glory and tragedy at the Olympics. We lost two very memorable people in one week as well.
Closer to home our mayor is off his rocker and the greater metro Detroit area wants his head.
Oh yeah, here at citizen we aren’t too keen on golf but the PGA Championship is in town and Brett happened to have a ticket in the VIP tent. Oakland Hills is a premier Course in Michigan.The South Course, which opened in 1918, is an aristocratic, blue-blooded member of the major championship rotation. It’s as indomitable as was its first head pro, Walter Hagen. The course is hosting its third PGA Championship, to go with six U.S. Opens. It is, most of all, a mercurial test, all about deciphering the puzzle on its confounding greens.

Living and growing up in or around the Motor City basically means the auto industry is running through every vein of the last 5 generations. The world famous Woodward Dream Cruise is only 3 weeks away. The Gumball 3000 is an annual 3000 mile (5000 km) international rally which takes place on public roads, which travels around the world. Noted celebrities David Hasselhoff, Rob Dyrdek(presumably driving the RS camaro), Pete Wentz , Jermaine Dupree, Bam Margera, Mike ‘Rooftop’ Escamilla, and John Mayer. More importantly our Family and friends who are sponsoring/participating in this years Gumball. Which includes MEG@ driving a Black Scale Porsche GT3 and Rogue Status Scion/ AWOL support crew Volkswagen.

Busy week as always over at the shop, but what are we doing on our weekends? Last week the Citizen crew decided to go visit local fam and friends while making new ones.
Meet LIFT, a hip toy boutique/art gallery that caters to showing off local artists as well as world renowned toys. They stock Kid Robot, Frank Kozik, Tokidoki, Wonder Wall, Gloomy Bear, Friends with You, Strangeco, wheaty wheat, Uglydoll, and more. The owner was a really great guy and the store is very eye catching and easy to shop in. We suggest any locals check out the spot and pick up all your toy needs here. You may even want to keep an eye out for special events from both Citizen and Lift!
In support of our local toy shop, we decided to buy the store a Kid Robot MUNNY in black. List will be hosting a huge MUNNY party on Saturday August 9th. We will hopefully be having a local artist do a piece with our store logo/colors on it. Heres our little guy below!
We also visted the guys over at Burn rubber to see what was up, but before that we mad our way to Brett’s favorite eatery.
We got kicked out of American Apparel for taking pictures and messing with the store fixtures. The staff was a bunch of stiffs so we livened up their presentation.
